Michael Garver Oxley was a Republican who served in the U.S. House of Representatives from the Fourth Congressional District of Ohio from 1980 to 2007. He did not seek reelection in 2006. He was born in Findlay, Ohio and received a Bachelor of Arts degree from Miami University in Oxford, Ohio and a law degree from the Ohio State University in 1969. Oxley co-sponsored the Sarbanes-Oxley Act of 2002 with Democrat Senator Paul Sarbanes. Oxley was appointed Vice Chairman of The Nasdaq Stock Market, Inc. in March 2007.
